Biography

Theresa Calonge is a singer, a composer and a writer.

Born in Minas Gerais in Brazil, and living in Belo Horizonte, she started dedicating to music when she was still a teenager. At first she studied lyric singing and had piano classes. At the same time she started to write and in 1991, she published her first book “Momentos”.

After, she began to dedicate not only to popular music but also to religious songs.

Theresa launched her first CD in 1998. That CD (Presença) had religious songs that included song of her own compositions.

Then, she was invited by the archbishop of Belo Horizonte to take part as a singer in a catholic CD (Meu dia em Oração).

After she launched a CD “Lakeside” which had many Brazilians and foreign composers like: Tom Jobim, Milton Nascimento, Danilo Caymmi, Ivan Lins, Peter Gabriel, John Fogerty and etc.

After an overcoming health problem, she launched 2 CDs, one in Portuguese and another in English. Both, having religious songs and it was called “Vida” and “Life”.

The second CD (Life) was produced by Canção Nova.

Today, she makes shows and gives her testimony in many places not only in Theatres but also Churches.
